about

Jac Zinder’s contribution to the understanding of the
little nether regions of music, and the eternal quest for an unpretentious, giddily nihilistic “good time” can never be measured, let alone properly acknowledged. I mean, a guy who almost
single-handedly filled LA’s huge cultural void with so much cool stuff deserves way more than just a few paragraphs of anecdotes. Nevertheless if ever there was a person who could appreciate being under-appreciated, it was Jac Zinder. He summed it up one night when, after one of his bands got a particularly dismal response, he walked up to the microphone, and donning his best Las Vegas smile, quipped,
“Thank you very much for your lukewarm applause.”
